About the name

William Henry Mackie was Western Australia’s first judge. He and Frederick Irwin donated the acre of land upon which stands All Saints Church, the oldest church in WA (and a lovely historical place to visit). The graveyard and the Church are located either on, or very close to, the furthest point inland reached by James Stirling’s 1827 expedition. William Mackie’s grave is among the graves in the All Saints cemetery.
